Each one of us has a limited time on this earth. We are encouraged to use as much of that time as possible for advancing Christ’s purposes in this world.
When the Covid-2019 lockdown was on in Russia as a medical mission Agape began to set up telemedical consultations by teaching the doctors and the staff how to use the internet to help patients while they stay at home. It led us to the idea of using telemedicine to consult the patients in Siberia while a local pastor comes to a new village to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with the residents! So the lockdown taught Agape to use the internet to reach out in a remote areas of Russia by only sending a local missionary there. Now we learn how to involve the local churches and the church leaders to use the telemedicine to further the Kingdom of God. We plan to have online trainings for the local pastors to use the phones and laptops to provide a compassionate medical care in the remote places of Russia. And we are looking for the volunteers to help us to build up the new model of evangelism using the telemedicine.
Agape decided to use the Covid-2019 lockdown time in Russia to train the staff to become effective leaders in the medical ministry in Russia. Together with the Equip Leadership Canada Agape medical mission is planning to have online seminars on the topic of Authentic Leadership. “We see the evidence of this in the Christian community: fatigue, frustration and burnout are everywhere. Emotional, psychological, relational and leadership problems originate from not understanding and appropriating the new, abundant life offered in Christ. Thousands of Christian books, websites and seminars claim to have the solution for how to replenish our depleted energy reserves and reignite our passion so that we can continue to ‘produce’. We buy into the latest ideas hoping to find the formula that will create instant success. Authentic Leadership—Living in Newness of Life is not a quick fix: it is life changing. It’s not about what to do and how to do it: it’s about our hearts as leaders. It’s not a one-time event: it’s a lifelong process. Exploring what is offered to us in this “new life in Christ” and the resulting effect on our identity, human needs, motivational gifts, minds and emotions will profoundly transform how we lead and influence others. The journey will be different for each of us. However, we can be confident that the Holy Spirit will take us from where we are now to where He wants us to be”. (Wes Boldt. Authentic Leadership). Agape starts the online seminars on May 23, Please pray for this important work as we build into the Russian leadership of Agape!nd shall continue it during one month.
