March Prayer Focus - remote Medical Expeditions!

2/29/2020

Pray without ceasing ... for remote Medical Expeditions in Siberia!

Weekly Prayer Needs
  • Give thanks for the portal that has opened in Siberia with 87 churches eager for our help in sharing the Gospel. It costs less to send an all-Russian team because they don't need translators, etc. Pray for the funds to send more all-Russian teams into this area.
  • For LABORERS, medical and non-medical people, to join us on our expeditions to other parts of Russia, even to "the ends of the earth''; for safety and health of the teams as they travel by plane, train, car and other means.
  • For the churches in these remote regions, that they boldly reach out to unbelievers in their communities and that they can share the love of God unhindered.
  • For local churches to reach out to the "unreached" people groups who are steadily diminishing in numbers, so that they receive the good news of the Gospel before it is too late.

Other Prayer Concerns
  • For financial stability for the ministry so that we can continue to share God's love as we treat patients in the clinic and through our outreaches.
  • For our current Aged-Out Orphan(s) living at the New Life House on the Agape Farm, that they develop leadership skills and serve as models to younger orphans.

March Prayer Requests

A medicine cabinet in a rural “medical point” in Siberia. Our teams bring Agape Health Kits that provide medicines for a family of 4 people and a New Testament. Sometimes there are more medicines in our health kits than in their sparse one-room clinics!
How far away is your local doctor or pharmacy? For most of us, the answer would probably be 10 miles or less. Imagine living in a yurt – a portable, round tent that is made from animal skins – that is hundreds of miles away from any form of medical treatment. Even if there is a local pharmacy in these remote areas, you are not likely to find the medince you need on its shelves. From its founding, Agape has made its core mission to go on medical expeditions, sometimes deep in the heart of Siberia where reindeer are plentiful, but medical care is not. These “forgotten” people are not forgotten by God! Please pray we can continue sending medical teams to these remote areas. Providing compassionate medical care is a great way to open a door to sharing the Good News of Christ with these precious people. Thank you!

Praises
  • Praise the Lord that Dr. Bill is experiencing relief from pain in his hands and fingers for the first time in nearly 5 years!

Please pray for…

Agape Staff/Volunteers
  • Uplift our receptionist, Valentina, who is immigrating to the US to reunite with her family.
  • Pray for the salvation of our non-Christian staff.
  • Ask God to provide divine protection for all Agape staff and families during the time of flu epidemics.

Agape Clinic
  • Uplift the upcoming Asian clinic in March.

Expeditions
  • Pray for several upcoming expeditions to Siberia; that the compassionate care of our teams lead many to Christ.
  • Intercede for the 210 or more inmates that repented and gave their lives to Christ during a time of Siberian prison. Pastor D. visited this prison a few months ago and has seen God move powerfully! Uplift him as well as he continues to minister in this area.
  • For funds to purchase necessary medicines and eyeglasses for our expeditions.

Agape Farm
  • Uplift Olessya, our orphan resident, who is a part of our Live & Learn program.

Friends of Agape:
  • Continue to uplift Tim L. (previous expedition participant) and his wife who are still recovering from a serious car accident last year.
YOUR PRAYERS ARE MAKING AN ETERNAL DIFFERENCE!

Pray for Dr Vika and her work in Agape

2/16/2020

Dr Vika, Medical Center Agape’s Neurologist, began her series of teaching in Medical Center Agape to the Family Medicine Physicians and Moniki residents about the initial visit to a neurologist. She had patients with some common diagnosis.  In this way we plan to develop the Family Medicine skills in neurology.   We also have the idea is to allow Dr Vika to teach the Whole Person Medicine to the young Russian doctors.  Dr Natalia, a Family Medicine professor from Moniki that Agape helped lead to Christ, is going to be with us to help Dr Vika to improve her teaching skills and see if MONIKI can invite Dr Vika to teach at their offices to the residents.

Please pray for Dr Vika and her ongoing work in teaching and her work at our Central Asian Clinics.

February Prayer Focus - Agape Medical Center

2/1/2020

Picture
Weekly Prayer Needs:
  • For God's wisdom to guide Agape in understanding His ways and strategies for the clinic
  • For a resolution to our funding shortfall related to the Agape outreaches
  • For new and creative ways to reach our customer base of 365,000 people in the area where our clinic is located.
  • For partnerships that will allow us to shore up and expand our outreach services through our "free" community clinics to migrants, stranded pregnant women, Central Asians, the homeless, and those in nursing homes

Other Prayer Concerns:
  • For careful stewardship of funds and resources in all areas of our ministry.
  • For a hedge of protection around Agape employees and their families

Challenges:
  • Agape Medical Center is the platform and the infrastructure for the medical outreach throughout the Russian Federation.  It is the only Christian medical clinic in the country.  the clinic is self-sustaining, if it works as a business, not a ministry.  When our doctors serve at our community clinics, they are not bringing needed income in the Agape Medical Center .  Because of the ministry goal, the clinic is operating at a sizable deficit.  Unless additional funding is provided, we will be forced to close our doors.  It would be heartbreaking to lay off our Christian staff who share God's love in Russia.

Agape Clinic, serving in a neighborhood of 365,000 people plus offering “free” clinics for migrants

Praise and Thanks!

  • Praise the Lord and a big THANK YOU to all those who helped us with donations plus all the NEW monthly donors.  What a blessing to have people who love Agape help us during times of need.
  • Thank the Lord and the NEW Siberian pastors who have opened the doors for us to send Russian Medical teams into “Area 87.”
  • Thanks to the Lord and to the donors who gave for the “Live & Learn” program. Our orphan student is doing amazingly well.  She is now writing our AgapeRussia E-flash and, if anyone wants a copy, we can add you to the list, but it is in Russian.
  • Praise the Lord for the great Christmas program held at the Agape Farm last December.  We invited Kyrgyz people (Kyrgyzstan is a Central Asian country) who previously visited our “free” clinics for Central Asian migrants, and we had an opportunity to minister to them.

Please pray for…

Finances
  • Ask the Lord to supply more faithful monthly donors for Agape’s long-term financial stability.

Agape Staff
  • Intercede for the newborn baby (Anastasia) of our bookkeeper Irina. The baby was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect.
  • Pray for protection and good health for every Agape team member.

Agape Clinic and Outreach:
  • Ask the Lord to supply all we need to provide “free” monthly clinics for migrants in 2020.
  • Pray for the funds to buy medicines and bandages for the homeless struggling in Moscow.
  • Pray that God will give us ministry opportunities for non-believing Agape clinic patients and staff.

Expeditions
  • Ask God to provide the finances and laborers to send “All-Russian Medical Teams” to Siberia. These teams usually spend 10-14 days working with unreached people groups.

Friends of Agape
  • Please continue to hold Tim L. in your prayers. The infection behind his knee is extremely painful and he is on antibiotics again.

January Prayer Focus - Agape Leadership

2/1/2020

Pray without ceasing ... for Agape Leadership

Weekly Prayer Needs:
  • That Agape Leadership will serve with integrity, sound wisdom, and discernment through the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
  • For a God-inspired "road map" outlining ministry priorities for this year.
  • For Leadership to have a listening ear to hear God's purpose, timing, and strategies in all circumstances.
  • That no weapon formed against our Leadership, Agape staff and their families, or our programs shall prosper.

Other Prayer Concerns:
  • That people will respond by giving financially, specifically on a regular or monthly basis, to support the various aspects of Agape's ministry.
  • For LABORERES to come to Agape's aid where most needed.

Challenges:
  • Our adversary, the devil, comes to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10) and he is working overtime, as within any ministry doing God's work, to bring confusion, divisiveness, and to derail Agape from our mandate to "make disciples".

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers, over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12)

Praise and Thanks
Thanks to God for the recent Russian Constitutional Court decision that lifts the criminal persecution from people for simply reading and studying the Bible in their homes.  We are VERY thankful because this frees us to share God’s love more openly with those who know little or nothing about Him. Please pray for a fair, honest, and merciful court system in Russia.

Thanks to God for all those people who helped us financially in 2019. We reached 79% of our goal to cover critical budget needs for the coming year. This will enable us to continue the work ministry at a subsistence level as we enter 2020. It's not too late to send in an "end of the year" gfit. Donate today!

Praise God for supplying Yana’s (Agape staff) mom with housing. She has been involved in a legal battle for three years and recently received a favorable court decision.

For the Live & Learn program that was held in December; thanks to those who gave to make this program possible and thanks to God for His Spirit working in the lives of these young people.

Please pray…

Agape Leadership
  • For God to supply wisdom as Agape leaders make decisions in 2020.
  • For a God-inspired “road map” outlining ministry priorities for this year.
  • For leadership to have a listening ear to hear God’s purpose, timing, and strategies in all circumstances.
  • That no weapon formed against our leadership, Agape staff and their families, or our programs shall prosper.

Agape Clinic:
  • A legal suit has been filed that may directly impact our Agape Medical Center and the use of our space to practice medicine. This is a very serious matter – please pray!
  • Intercede for Central Asian migrants who visit our “free” community clinics.
  • Uplift our non-Christian clinic staff that their hearts would receive the good news of the Gospel.

Agape Siberian Expeditions
  • For Agape expedition teams, that they will be divinely protected and enjoy good health.
  • For our all-Russian teams traveling this winter to help 87 churches bring in a mighty harvest of souls.

Agape Volunteers
  • Intercede for Tim and his family. He and his wife have been strong supporters of Agape and recently they were in a car accident. Tim has gone through multiple bone surgeries and wants to return to the mission field.  Please pray for a successful recovery.

Finances
  • For people with wisdom and open hearts to support Agape. We need more monthly donors to continue our current level of ministry.

Agape Farm Staff
  • Andrey’s mom is in a legal battle due to mold in her apartment. Please pray for a favorable outcome so her apartment walls will be fixed and insulated properly.
  • For Olessya, our resident orphan at the farm, that our farm staff have wisdom in how to help her grow into all that God intends for her to become.
  • Rejoice always, pray without ceasing,  give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18).
